In this introductory session, students receive a general understanding of Ayurveda and how to apply its basic principles to nurture our bodies, minds, and spirits. This class provides knowledge that empowers participants to take tangible steps in their daily lives that support a sense of vitality, health, and overall well-being specific to the winter months ahead. A Tulsi Kitchen takeaway gift is included in this session.

Capoeira with Gerry Holmes 3:00-4:00pm

Capoeira (Portuguese pronunciation: [kapu'e(j)re) is an Afro-Brazilian martial art and game that includes elements of dance, acrobatics, music, and spirituality. It is known for its acrobatic and complex maneuvers, often involving hands on the ground and inverted kicks. It emphasizes flowing movements rather than fixed stances; the Ginga, a rocking step, is usually the focal point of the technique. Though often said to be a martial art disguised as a dance, Capoeira serves not only as a form of self-defense but also as a way to maintain spirituality and culture.
